The three remote control panels offer several new features: Volume 8 allows up to eight individual or group levels with Audia. The levels may include inputs, outputs, mixer levels, matrix cross-points or any number of volume controls. Select 8 provides the selection and control of up to eight actions from within Audia. This control can be used to establish presets, mutes, ducking and/or combining. Volume/Select 8 combines the functionality of the Volume 8 and Select 8 on one two-gang panel. According to Ralph Lockhart, president of Biamp Systems: "We wanted to give the end-user as much flexibility as possible, which is why we created individual Volume and Select controls, as well as a version that combines both Volume and Select into one unit."
Complementing the remote panels, the new Audia Logic Box provides up to 20 logic inputs or outputs in any combination. The logic inputs allow the user to include presets mutes, ducking, combining and other functions in either individual or grouped formats. Speaker relays, camera action and other actions can be triggered through the logic outputs in the Logic Box. The remote control system is unique in that up to 32 of the remotes and/or logic boxes may be connected to one Audia and any remote has control of the total system. A total system can consist of multiple Audia units.
Biamp is also introducing new Audia software (V2.0) and firmware (V3.107). This release interfaces with the new controls and also introduces a room combining system, improved preset interface, a transfer function processing block and a full suite of logic gating functions. The new Audia software and firmware can be downloaded from the website.
