The club, located inside Istanbul's fashionable Edition Hotel, recreates the same combination of cuisine and after-dinner entertainment that originated at the first Billionaire Club on the jet-set getaway of Costa Smeralda in Sardinia.
Inside, the space has been conceived as a glimmering disco ballroom accessed via a dramatic staircase that descends into the main. Guests entering the space are immediately struck by the lighting - a composition of Clay Paky Alpha Wash 300s and Spot HPE 300s, and architectural LED lighting.
The concept here is one of absolute luxury, designed for the local jet-setters who flock to the club for the vibe as well as the music performed by top international DJs. French interior designers Deco Flamme developed the club theme, a blend of "sleek minimalism and opulent detailing", while lighting was designed and specified by Domenico Terzi of Sangalli Tecnologie, Italy, and Samim Mutluer from SF Elektronik, Clay Paky's distributor in the region.
"The club managers at the Billionaire Istanbul consider the lighting to be extremely important," says Samim Mutluer, who also helped train the staff in the use of their new system. "Instructions as to how the lighting should be are very precise, and the lights are used to build a captivating atmosphere throughout the night. The Clay Paky fixtures supply this and more - as we can see from the reaction of the clients on the dance floor."
