Black Box's K1 Kudo system - the first to arrive in Germany - will ship in early spring, in time for this year's open-air season. The system will comprise 48 K1 line source cabinets, 24 K1-SB subs, 24 SB28 subs, 24 Kudo line source cabinets, 24 dV-DOSC compact line source enclosures and 75 LA8 amplified controllers installed in LA-RAKs.
Goos, who checked out K1 during the Nine Inch Nails US tour in late 2008, comments: "After many years' experience with V-DOSC, we see K1 becoming the new benchmark for arena systems. We are overwhelmed by the sound, especially the amount of low frequency generated by the flown elements. The new system approach, with LA8 amplified controllers sitting in uniform LA-RAKs plus the new rigging, dramatically cuts down setup and tear down times. All in all, we trust the new K1 will be a hard act to follow."
Founded in 1992 in Berlin, Black Box Music uses L-Acoustics sound systems exclusively. The company also hosts L-Acoustics product training in Germany in its large format rehearsal room. In April all BBM technicians will undergo hands-on training of the new system in this training facility.
Jochen Frohn, business development director at L-Acoustics, adds: "BBM has been an L-Acoustics partner for years, and has worked on many landmark tours with top German rock and pop acts. We highly appreciate the relationship we've built up with them and wish them a bright future as part of the new programme."
