"Our team acted as consultants to the project and then sourced and installed the required equipment," sayss Black Light's head of company development, Phil Haldane. "We worked to a very strict deadline as the equipment re-vamp was needed for a televised Scottish Parliamentary election count."
Black Light's team had to be particularly careful in how they installed equipment so as not to damage or compromise the hall's historic interior.
"We received excellent project delivery and very good customer care," says Peter Morrison, from Clackmannanshire Council, who were the clients for the project. "Black Light's on-site staff were easy to work with, and any change requests were dealt with in good time and within budget."
The success of the project was based on the initial consultancy Black Light carried out. The installation team met with the client and hall users and carefully discussed their needs. A full specification list and brief for the project was then drawn up. This was put out to competitive tender and subsequently won by Black Light.
"Thanks to our comprehensive stock list and good supplier contacts we were able to get the high-quality equipment the project required quickly and cost-effectively," says Haldane. "As we had been involved with the project right from the beginning our design was perfect for the building and met end-users' needs. Our success shows that we can provide effective consultancy on an installation, which then leads to successful project delivery - on-time, on-budget and with the client's requirements as our priority every step of the way."
Alloa Town Hall was built in 1888 and is a well-used community venue that is home to many sporting events, festivals, ceilidhs, pantomimes and plays and family celebrations and weddings. Alloa is the main town in Clackmannanshire. It is located about six miles east of Stirling on the banks of the River Forth.
