Double Gold Medallist Kelly Holmes led the victory parade of 100 medal winners from Team GB along with Paralympic medal winners. The celebratory procession, comprising five giant branded floats, started at Piccadilly and snaked along The Haymarket before arriving in Trafalgar Square. It culminated in a presentation attended by over 15,000 fans, which launched London's 2012 Olympic bid campaign slogan - " Make Britain Proud".
For each float Blackout produced five giant perforated vinyl mesh banners, each measuring 14 x 2.4m to fit each flat bed trailer deck. Designed by Mark Norton of Think Farm, they depicted five different sports disciplines - rowing/sailing, equestrian/cycling, swimming/diving, track & field and miscellaneous which included basketball, boxing and archery. Each trailer then had a fitted vinyl skirt branded with the various Sponsors logos.
Blackout also themed both sides of the arch structure at the procession's start. The team deployed perforated vinyl banners, branded again and sized precisely to fit the arch. The headers measured 10 x 1.2m and the columns 1.2 x 6m.
Blackout also supplied four stunning trevira 30 x 4.5m banners, specially fabricated with handles all around the edges and sewn with slits designed to waft in the wind. The handles ensured that 20 children in the procession could easily and safely carry each banner. Two banners were branded with four large Union Jacks down the centre and National Lottery logos on the edges. The other two were designed out of six strips of fabric matching the colours of the 2012 bid.
In Trafalgar Square Blackout supplied 200m x 1m of vinyl strip, which was deployed across the front levels of the staging, on the barriers and handrails. Additionally Blackout supplied three logo'ed backdrops to the stage area.
RWP's Robbie Williams commented: "Blackout's team were excellent - they worked to an extremely tight deadline with a positive can-do approach. We can always rely on Blackout's service and support."
