The award-winning Blackstar team
UK - Blackstar Amplification has been honoured in the 2011 Queen's Awards For Enterprise in the International Trade category. Blackstar has only been in existence for four years - an unusually short period of time in which to earn the award.

Paul Hayhoe, Blackstar UK's sales and marketing director, comments, "In 2007, four friends - all passionate musicians - launched Blackstar Amplification. Having worked together for years at the highest levels of the amp designing industry, their dream was to create new and innovative guitar amplifiers and pedals that would be the ultimate tools for self-expression."

Hayhoe continues, "Since then, we have gone from a shed at the bottom of the garden to a 4500sq.ft facility and a team of 25 amazingly talented and dedicated people. Blackstar products are now distributed in more than 40 countries around the world, but one thing remains true: we're all musicians and are truly passionate about what we do - making great guitar amps for players around the world.

"In four short years, we have been on a remarkable journey and have met some incredible people from all over the world. We are very proud and privileged to have artists like Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne/Firewind), Fredrik Ã…kesson (Opeth), Silenoz (Dimmu Borgir) and Neal Schon (Journey) using Blackstar products, but more importantly, we would like to say a big thank you to the thousands of Blackstar users all over the world who have purchased our products and supported our brand. Without our customers, we would have no company."
