Blitz worked alongside events management company, urban productions, where project manager Monique Smith observed, "Blitz's expertise, coupled with their proactive approach and attention to detail had helped us tremendously at past events. When organising an Awards ceremony at one of the East End's most extraordinary and exciting venues, Blitz was well placed to provide us with both the equipment and proficiency to help bring Spitalfields Market alive on the night."
Steve Parker, based at Blitz Manchester, co-ordinated the efforts between Manchester and Elstree to make sure that the event ran smoothly. He commented: "Spitalfields Market is a truly remarkable location and a fantastic setting. Having worked in similar venues we were able to find answers to the many challenges the site posed".
As the stage was in the round, Blitz hung three screens in a triangular arrangement above the stage and dead-hung the Barco R8 projectors from appropriate points on the ceiling joists. The equipment supplied by Blitz included hand held Sennheiser radio mics for the host, Dermot O'Leary, as well as for the winners. d&b Q series speakers, four Sony Triax Cameras and PPU to transmit pictures to the auditorium screens and a separate relay for the press area were also supplied.
Blitz used a 360 Systems instant replay unit for audio stings to be played when announcing the winners and for the walk-up, which allowed for easy last minute changes and additions. For the separate after show party, the AV rental specialists also supplied d&b F2 and B2 sound systems.
