The relationship between Blue Audio and London goes back some seven years and this was its largest fully networked installation to-date. Blue Audio's Nadar explained the brief: "High quality music is a main theme for this busy venue and the client wanted clarity, power and the flexibility to be able to switch any of the nine sources to any of the five rooms. There are several products I knew that would do the job but all had a host of unwanted functions and were unnecessarily expensive. I approached Dave Thomson of Avolution, a good friend who is always up on the latest products, and he suggested NetCIRA. He spent time with the Sennheiser guys at PLASA to fully understand the system and convinced me it was the best solution for this application."
The main room uses a Crown/Nexo system and a combination of Nexo, Ohm and Turbosound Impact loudspeakers are used in the other four rooms, all driven by Crown, MC² or Crest amps. Allen & Heath and DATEQ mixers, Pioneer CD players and Technics turntables are then used to complete the sound throughout the venue. The NetCIRA system consists of three MS8 Main Units fitted with MI8 Input Card and each of the five rooms are fitted with an ES2 Pro Receiver Unit and LR1 Remote Plate.
Nadar was pleased with the outcome saying: "The NetCIRA system is simple to install and gave the client exactly what he wanted in terms of superb audio quality and simplicity of operation by non-technical staff. We've already specified it on future installations."
