When he allocated the £200,000 necessary to refit the former Traveller's Rest, Naylor confessed he had his eyes fixed on another speaker brand. That was until he experienced a demo of the Programme 60s. "After listening to them, I realized they offered outstanding reproduction." There were other attributes of the Programme 60, including the long rectangular, trapezoidal geometrics of the enclosure. As he was fitting the venue out to a high standard, he admits aesthetics was an important consideration. "I expected to have to spray paint the speakers to match the décor - but the Programme 60s are such a good looking system that they can remain fairly discrete within the venue."
Evenly dispersed, the Programme 60s are wall-mounted on their own brackets in Blue Minx, and fed from the CD player in the DJ station - where much of the existing equipment has been reutilized. The two-way, ported Programme 60 has been designed to meet the requirement of high-output, near-field reproduction in both foreground and background music application. As a result of its components - 6.5" woofers and 1" titanium horn tweeter, plus acoustic equalizer/tone control and 60° x 60° horn - it can deliver clean sound over a wide frequency range, coupled with high power handling in an elegant, acoustically-efficient enclosure.
