Bluman Associates managed the technical production for a mapped building projection onto the front of the historic building for creative agency Unspun Ltd.
The highly anticipated final saw German rivals Borussia Dortmund take on Bayern Munich where victory was clenched in the 89th minute for Bayern Munich, with a goal from Arjen Robben making the final score 2 - 1.
On arrival at the Natural History Museum, the Dortmund players, their management, friends and VIP supports of the club were all greeted by the club logo projected onto the outside of the building. Video services production agency Bluman Associates worked to a tight timescale to make this possible.
Pod Bluman, Managing Director of Bluman Associates explained: "ML Studios produced all the content and we worked with their team to bring it to life on the front of this iconic London building. We only had a week's preparation for the event which is very challenging for a projection mapping project of this scale and profile. We decided to use the old school method of doing a lens trace, which is the way we were taught back in the old days of slide projection.
"For the actual event, we had a very tight five hour build time where we had to rig all the six projectors and Hippotizer media servers that were needed to effectively cover and map the surface of the building. The projection went live after the match was concluded and players were arriving at 11pm."
Christopher Laue, Creative and Production Director of Unspun Ltd explained:
"The precision of Bluman Associate's architectural mapping was absolutely fantastic. This combined with the blazing luminosity of the projectors resulted in a spectacular branded entrance for Borussia Dortmund's guests."
