The DVD player plays normal audio and video DVD and CDs as well as MP3 encoded DVDs and CDs. In addition, it plays JPEGs on CD-R, DVD-ROM and DVD-R.
The unit has component, composite, and S-Video connections for video output and can play PAL and NTSC content in either progressive or interleaved scan. A TOSlink optical output is also available that supports S/P DIF as well as DTS and Dolby Digital.
The player will automatically search and play all playable formats on a disc and is capable of providing up to a whole week of music from a single MP3 DVD. It can be set to automatically switch over to the FM/AM tuner source at the end of a disc to assure non-stop music.
The 120 W mixer amplifier has three microphone inputs, including one with selectable priority status for use with a microphone with remote switching contacts. This microphone input also features a voice-activated switching (VOX) function with priority contacts for overriding the other inputs and the background music. A two-tone chime can also be set to precede announcements.
The output section of the mixer amplifier has two transformer-isolated 100V constant-voltage outputs for driving 100V public address loudspeakers in two separate zones. This allows sound to be directed to two separate areas to enable announcements or background music to be restricted to specific areas and excluded from others. The output level for each zone can be individually set and each zone also has a low-voltage output for connecting to 8 ohm transformerless (consumer-type) loudspeakers.
