The new UHF radio mic range from Bosch (not shown actual size).
Germany - Bosch Security Systems has extended its public address and voice alarm product portfolio with a new range of UHF wireless microphone products. According to Bosch, the range, which includes a true diversity wireless microphone receiver, a handheld wireless microphone and a wireless belt-pack transmitter, offers a host of features normally found on more expensive products. These include a lock function on the receiver and the microphones to prevent accidentally setting changes or switching off, an integrated LCD display and the latest PLL synthesized tuning technology.

Optimized for speech and with 193 selectable UHF channels, the new wireless microphone products are suited to a wide range of applications. The microphone receiver offers a single channel for one transmitter and features true diversity to protect against audio signal drop-out due to movement of the microphones during a presentation. The illuminated LCD display indicates the AF and RF signal level, receiving frequency, microphone battery-status and mute-status indications. It also features a pilot tone signal and audio squelch that controls the receiver's audio output to eliminate turn-on/turn-off transients and to keep the receiver muted when the microphone is turned off. The compact half rack metal housing can be simply placed on a tabletop or it can be rack mounted for which a dual 19" rack-mounting bracket, front panel and antenna adapter kit are available.

The robust belt-pack transmitter features a spring-loaded belt clip, allowing it to be placed unobtrusively on a trouser belt or waist-band. It comes with a lavalier microphone that can be attached to a collar, tie or other article of clothing to allow hands-free operation. The belt-pack transmitter includes the locking function and an LCD display indicating the transmitting frequency and the battery status. The belt-pack transmitter can operate for approximately 15 hours on standard AA alkaline batteries.

Plena additions
Bosch has also announced the extension of its Plena public address and voice alarm family with a new professional weekly timer unit, a DC power supply and charger unit and an update to its range of power amplifiers.

Designed to meet the stringent IEC 60849 standard for sound systems for emergency purposes, the Plena family offers all essential EVAC functionality, including system supervision, spare amplifier switching, loudspeaker-line surveillance and digital message management. For applications such as hotels and shopping centres, Plena also offers full public address functionality such as BGM (background music), paging and playing pre-recorded commercials. The new additions complete the Plena family, further strengthening Bosch's position as 'one-stop-shop' supplier for public address and voice alarm solutions.
