"We needed to move away from point source audio systems and decided to go with line array technology so that there is consistent audio coverage from front to back," commented Andrew Lester who is the music director at BBC.
The church experimented with various loudspeaker brands before choosing HK Audio. "We also required a system that was exceptionally linear throughout the dynamic range of our church services and found that the Cadis Array system from HK Audio performed the best after several tests with different sound manufacturers," he added. "This coupled with the added value service we experienced from local agents Proaudio, reinforced our decision to choose the Cadis."
Five CAD 208 mid highs are flown per side, reinforced on each end with2x Cohedra CDR 210 dual 10" subwoofers for the low frequencies. The CDR210 was chosen from an aesthetic perspective because of its sleek, compact design as well as its tight, natural sounding low end performance. Audio management is done through HK Audio's DSM 2060 and the system is powered by VX 2400 amplifiers. System installation was done by Emmanuel McGrath and his team from The Art of Noise.
"As the word gets out and more people hear HK Audio loudspeaker systems, so they become converts of the great sound from these products," comments Andrew Sorrill, HK Audio specialist at Proaudio - who was also previously involved in 'church sound' and production for 15 years.
He adds, "It is the transparency and musicality of HK Audio's sound and its consistency in tone from soft levels to loud levels that make it an asset in the church environment today. I believe that having to adjust EQ as the level changes is not an option."
