USA - Founded by senior pastor Perry Noble in 2000, NewSpring Church of Anderson, South Carolina has experienced tremendous growth over the past 13 years. Following the completion of its main worship center in 2006, the church began to establish satellite campuses throughout the region to accommodate its increasing number of attendees, which has now reached nearly 30,000 each week across NewSpring's eight locations.

With an ultimate goal to reach over 100,000 people every Sunday, NewSpring Church puts temphasis not only on the spoken word - which is streamed live from Anderson - but also on high-energy live music at each site boasting concert tour production values and sound levels.

Pleased with the dV-DOSC loudspeaker system installed in its 2,500-seat home sanctuary seven years ago, the church has recently been commissioning L-Acoustics certified provider LMG Systems Integra

World - Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has been getting top reviews for his Moonshine Jungle tour, which will continue to play dates around the world through March 2014 and takes two grandMA2 full-size consoles on the road.

"We were tasked with creating a world for Bruno and his band to inhabit," says lighting designer Cory FitzGerald who co-designed the tour with Roy Bennett. "Bruno has a lot of sounds and pushes past a lot of genres, so he needed an environment that would accommodate all his music. The lighting fixtures help a lot with that. We have 276 panels of Chromlech Elidy, 42 Clay Paky Sharpy Washes and about 80 Clay Paky Sharpy beams plus two grandMA2 full-size units - and we're very happy with the rig." VER supplied the tour's gear.

USA - After winning the 2013 Grammy Song of the Year and Best New Artist awards, indie pop band Fun.'s Most Nights tour has been packing music venues across 34 North American cities throughout the summer. Montreal-based Solotech is providing the tour with a Meyer Sound Leo linear large-scale sound reinforcement system.

"I'd heard Leo last year at Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, and I was tickled pink when I had the opportunity to take a rig out this year," says Gordon Reddy, FOH engineer for Fun. "It's a great kit, with a wonderfully smooth high end. If a typical sweet high end is like table sugar, then LEO is clarified honey."

The band's touring system includes main arrays of 14 Leo-M line array loudspeakers per side, with low-end impact supplied by a total of 24 1100-LFC low-frequency control elements. Rounding out the system are eight UPJ

UK - With an estimated 70,000 fans screaming and hoping to catch a glimpse of One Direction, the five-member band walked the red carpet outside the Empire Cinema in London's Leicester Square for the world premier of 1D: This Is Us. Lighting design and production was handled by premiere veterans Limited Edition Events who utilized Martin RUSH Series Strobe 5x5's to add some eye-candy to the daylight event. Emitting an intense but diffused cool light the units produced a myriad of pixel mapped effects which looked fabulous on the global live broadcast.

Nearly 30 Martin Rush Strobe 5x5's, provided by HSL lighting of Blackburn, were built into two double sided pyramid set pieces on the main stage along with two smaller pyramids on the DJ stage. With strategic spacing between units an exploded video effect was created. Each of the hundreds of pixels - 25 in each strobe - were

It was the first time Gray has used Robe moving lights in his fashion work - he is also the LD for rockers Kasabian, comedian Eddie Izzard and is an internationally exhibited video and light artist.

Gray has been wanting to incorporate moving lights on his fashion projects for some time, but feels that the appropriate fixtures have only recently become available.

He comments, "I have been keeping my eye on Robe for a while as they are now bringing some really interesting products to the market. For both these shows, t

UK - When the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series visited Wales for the UK leg of their global cliff diving championship, XL Events was on hand to ensure all the action was captured for the crowds of excited spectators.

With competitors diving from a height of 27m from the top of the Pembrokeshire cliffs, XL Events needed to ensure that spectators in both of the cliff viewing areas had an excellent view of the 14 divers from nine different countries.

To achieve this, XL Events installed two Lighthouse R7 LED screens, one at the top and one at the bottom of the cliffs, and each measuring 5 x 3m.

XL selected the R7 screen for this outdoor project as it is weatherproof, robust and its high brightness and shaders make it the perfect choice for use in sunlight. The screens were installed by Sandro Bruni and Jan van Geet, who also operated cameras during the two-day event.

UK - Martin Audio's MLA system changed the sonic landscape around the globe this summer - providing an acoustic experience and uniting the audience at premier festivals, concerts and other outdoor events as never before.

For promoters and production teams MLA enabled them to meet traditional challenges head on for the first time. The multi award-winning system's ability to provide uniform coverage right across the soundfield was matched by its scientifically proven reduction of offsite spillage and noise pollution to well within local authority thresholds.

With MLA's ability to sonically 'map' a site - optimising audience areas and 'hard avoiding' objects that might create reverberation or slapback - it has rapidly become a go-to system for promoters and local authorities alike.

There was no finer example of the award-winning system's powers than at AEG Live's Barclaycard Br

Australia - Lighting designer Peter Mumford is using Clay Paky's powerful Sharpy luminaires to deliver ingenious lighting effects on Global Creatures' ambitious multi-million dollar production of King Kong in Melbourne.

With a scenic backdrop that primarily comprises video and lighting effects, Mumford has applied the bright, pure beams of 46 Sharpys in a unique way to create an almost architectural grid effects across the stage. He has also used the Sharpys to convey stunningly realistic gunfire effects as King Kong is shot down from the Empire State Building.

UK - Chromlech Elidy LED panels have toured the world with Mumford & Sons in the largest installation of these LED matrix fixtures to date. Lighting designer, Ed Warren, employed 12 Elidy-Big, 12 Elidy-S and 64 Elidy-Wall panels in spectacular style to create unique lighting effects in his latest tour with the blockbuster band.

Warren has worked with Mumford & Sons for five years, 'ever since they needed a lighting designer', favouring tungsten-based lighting in his designs which, he feels, best suits the band.

"I have used Chromlech's Jarag tungsten fixtures since Mumford & Sons' first production tour in 2010, then Chromlech launched Elidy at PLASA 2012," says Warren. "A couple of lighting friends recommended me this new product, and when I saw it for myself I thought Christmas had come! It was almost as if Chromlech had invented the Elidy especially for me.

UK - When lighting designer Neil Austin was looking to light Liolà at the Lyttelton Theatre, he wanted to try something new - something which would provide the same smooth dimming he is used to with traditional tungsten, but providing vibrant, full colour.

In a European exclusive, Liolà became the first show outside of the US to be lit with ETC's new Source Four LED CYC fixtures, powered by the ETC Source Four LED Lustr+ engine.

"The ETC Source Four LED CYC is a game-changer," says Austin. "At last there's a high quality, low-energy alternative to the most electricity and gel-hungry section of theatre lighting. There were looks I was able to achieve on the cyclorama for Liolà that would not have been possible with any other method of lighting - not even my beloved tungsten."

Says Erik Larsen, market manager for ETC Ltd, "

This important building - which houses the Tattersall's Theatre, two exhibition galleries, the CBD library, Visitor Information Centre and café - was opened to the public in 2001, but a certain approach to construction meant there were some problems from the outset, as Gavin Hume, director of MultiTek Solutions, explained.

"The venue had some troubling times during the original construction. The the
