I Love Reggaeton

Spain - The open-air festival series I Love Reggaeton was held in Valencia and Madrid from the end of May to the beginning of June. Acts including Maldy, Nacho, and many more played in front of nearly 30,000 spectators on the impressive main stage, which provided the platform for an equally spectacular lighting design thanks to its sharp, pyramid-shaped truss structures. The star of the lighting rig was the Cameo PIXBAR 400 IP G2 LED bar.

Two hundred and thirty-six PIXBAR 400 IP G2s were required to trace the contours of the stage measuring approximately 50m in width and up to 20m in height.

“The purpose of the festival is to offer a comprehensive audiovisual experience,” explains Efrain Andrade from Spanish rental service provider Fluge Audiovisuales. “This meant the lighting design had to be an absolute eye-catcher. With the PIXBAR 400 IP G2, we were able to frame the entire stage.”

Fluge is already familiar with I Love Reggaeton’s overall requirements from previous years and also supplied the stage and lighting technology for the festival in 2024. Eduardo Valverde and his company Experiencias Visuales were responsible for the lighting and stage design.

“The PIXBAR LED bars are incredibly bright and also reach their full effect in daylight,” comments Efrain Andrade. Since the festival went into late in the evening, the operators had to dim the PIXBAR 400 IP G2 considerably after sunset in order to regulate the enormous brightness of the LED bars. In addition to the PIXBAR 400 IP G2, Fluge Audiovisuales also used the Cameo ZENIT W600 Outdoor LED Wash Lights to bathe the stage and artists in changing coloured light.

In Valencia, the entire stage construction remained in place even after the end of the festival – and greeted the next two weeks of open-air festivals: Love the 90s and Love the Twenties. “Overall, the floodlights will remain mounted out in the open air for about a month in high temperatures,” explains Efrain Andrade. “Thanks to their excellent outdoor qualities, however, we can fully rely on the PIXBAR 400 IP G2 and ZENIT W600 in this context.”
