UK - South West London's Capital Sound has introduced a KV2 Audio EX system into its hire inventory for use at ongoing corporate retail events, such as those within London's Armani stores, and to satisfy Capital's CSE work entertaining the British Armed Forces overseas.

The system was initially demonstrated by LMC Audio, who subsequently made the sale. LMC's Steve King commented: "The KV2 Audio brand is a genuinely exciting one and our belief in the product range is validated by every demonstration and sale. Many respected sound hire companies like Capital are blown over by the sheer value, power and quality of the products."

The EX system, comprised of two EX10 two-way, full range active cabinets, two EX12s incorporating the revolutionary 3-inch NVPD large format compression driver, and two double 12" EX2.2 active subwoofers, fulfils a diverse requirement from the hire company. Capital's Ian Colville explained: "We needed a very smart system for our corporate work and the KV2 looks very good. We also needed some very lightweight but powerful speakers to service our CSE contract."

"We felt that for significantly less weight we were getting very close to the quality and volume that we expect from our usually favoured speaker system. We were very impressed by the performance of the system, considering its weight and, an added bonus proved to be that the EX system comes in soft carry bags rather than heavy flight cases - an important consideration on military flights where weight allowances are extremely restricted."

The pivotal size to power ratio is a signature of KV2 Audio loudspeaker systems, which are designed to exhibit superior sonic clarity, depth and resolution, say the company. As George Krampera - the K in KV2 - explains: "If we want products with extreme clarity, definition and output, we need to increase the audible dynamic range, the 'True Dynamic Range' of a loudspeaker system." The philosophy behind KV2 system design is to focus on everything, transducer design, acoustic design, horns, amplifiers, control electronics and integration schemes. As a result of this attention to detail, KV2 Audio loudspeakers are pared of all unnecessary components, with every element of the design contributing fully to the natural reproduction of sound, say the company.

Colville adds: "The involvement of George Krampera was the deal-clincher for us. He has a similar design philosophy to that which is behind our usually favoured speaker system, which is heavier and carries a premium price tag because of the brand value. The KV2 Audio system delivers the power the sound quality that we require in many situations but is lighter and less expensive than the system we currently stock!"
