3.15 Art Centre is a multi-purpose venue dedicated to enhancing the creativity and diversity of the performing arts. In order to provide suitable sound quality for live performances in their 1,100-seat concert hall, 3.15 Art Centre recently decided to upgrade their existing sound system. Together with TechData Co, 3.15 Art Centre outfitted their concert hall with JBL VTX V20 line-array loudspeakers, VTX S25 subwoofers, SRX812P powered speakers and Crown I-Tech 4x3500HD amplifiers.
“3.15 Art Centre asked us to deploy an audio solution capable of outputting high sound pressure levels with a flat frequency response,” said Jonathan Choi, tech lab engineer, TechData. “Due to the close proximity and steep slope of the audience seats, we knew we would need a high-powered line array in order to provide even coverage throughout the theatre. Considering these factors, we selected JBL loudspeakers for their impressive SPL and highly directional output.”
TechData equipped the theatre with JBL VTX V20 three-way line-array speakers for the main sound system. Crown I-Tech 4x3500HD amplifiers deliver clean, reliable power to the system and offer advanced networking capabilities. JBL SRX812P full range powered speakers are used as stage monitors. SRX812P speakers are also used as front-fill speakers to ensure even coverage in the first and second rows.
"At 3.15 Art Centre, we host a wide range of events throughout the year and required a high-end audio system to deliver world-class sound without the aid of a rental company,” said Woong Heo, Art Centre sound director, 3.15 Art Centre. “TechData suggested a JBL audio solution and we have been very impressed with the results. The V20’s offer a flat frequency response and high SPL in a compact, easy-to-install package.”
