Both carrying an IP 66 rating and designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions, COLORado 3p IP and COLORado 1 IP are designed for this kind of permanent outdoor installation in a climate where showers are frequent all year long.
The lights dress all four levels of the building's exterior in saturated washes. The architecture combined with the lighting design transform this building every night at twilight into a fairytale-like castle. All fixtures have been programmed to automatically start-up when ambient light gets low.
Audio and lighting company Sound Design Studio based in Tbilisi, worked with lighting company Adjarganateba of Batumi, to complete the entire installation in only six days. The tight deadlines were in place to meet a scheduled Enrique Iglesias concert held in Era Square presented by Batumi City Hall.
"I was pleasantly surprised with how these lights perform," said Vladislav Turiashvili, technical director for Sound Design Studio. "Everyone agrees that this is the brightest building in Georgia. From the beginning, nobody believed these fixtures are that powerful. You can easily see how it stands out from the background of other lit buildings in Era Square."
