UK - Christie, a leading provider of visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, introduces the world's first 3-Chip DLP High Definition projectors with native 1920x1080 resolution, the Christie HD12K, Christie HD8K, Christie HD8Kc, Christie HD5K and Christie HD5Kc. With the highest resolution in their class, the Christie HD series offers the same powerful 10-bit image processing that is at the heart of Christie digital projectors.

With brightness levels ranging from 5,000 to 12,000 ANSI lumens and 1,500-2,000:1 full field contrast ratio, the Christie HD series packs a wide range of power, flexibility and features. The new HD series models are also available with colour-corrected optics, known as the "Kc" models. Designed for the rigors of rental/staging, post-production, broadcasting and houses of worship, all five models feature built-in edge-blending, two HD input channels capable of up to 4:4:4 signals, digital black level adjustment and DMX 512 communication capabilities.

The Christie HD series of 3-chip DLP projectors includes the Christie HD12K, featuring 12,000 ANSI lumens, and the famed ruggedness of the Christie Roadster Class products that exceed the needs of the most demanding rental/staging venues.

The Christie HD8K projector features 8,000 ANSI lumens, and a rigging frame that allows it to attach to the Christie Roadster Series. It is also available in a "Kc" model, which features colour correction ideal for post-production and HD broadcast. Colour correction includes a yellow notch filter that creates greater separation between the primary colours, enhancing the "Kc" models with richer colour depth for a film-like experience. With flexibility for a broad range of applications, the Christie HD5K and Christie HD5Kc (colour-corrected) features up to 5,000 ANSI lumens.

All Christie HD projectors feature proprietary electronics with HD 4:4:4 capabilities and digital black level control, which can be used with the built-in edge blending feature. The projectors also include seamless switching, picture-in-picture, Christie LiteLOC, which enables constant screen brightness, and the Christie ILS (Intelligent Lens System) for zoom and focus. A built-in RJ45 networking port utilizes the ChristieNET networking solution for remote monitoring and control of projectors. True 10-bit image processing ensures superior colour and contrast for images of unparalleled quality.

"Christie has a long history of innovations in projection technology that has enabled us to become the definitive leader in the industry," Gary Fuller, vice-president, Christie Business products division. "Christie was the first to introduce the 3-Chip DLP® projector and the first to install the technology in a commercial venue. Today, we are the clear leaders with the most 2K-resolution, digital cinema installations in the world. The Christie HD family of projectors continues our tradition of industry firsts, delivering the reliability, long-life operation and exceptional image quality that are the hallmarks of all Christie products."

Christie will be at InfoComm, stand no: 1923, demonstrating the new Christie HD series. InfoComm takes place in Orlando, Florida from June 7 - 9, 2006 at the Orange County Convention Center.
