As well as dealing with a new and unfamiliar fixture, Yildiz had to deal with little time and a lot of daylight during programming. "The Alphas are very easy to use, which was a big help when you are under pressure," comments Yildiz. "The colours are very saturated, and the pan and tilt is incredibly fast. The Alphas are, feature-for-feature, a great fixture."
The owner of Pegasus Productions, Anthony Truncali, has been a loyal dealer of another moving light manufacturer for a significant number of years. However, changes in the direction of product development led Truncali to look at other options for moving light fixtures. "They just blew away anything that we've ever seen," says Truncali of his first demo of the Alpha Spot HPE. "In terms of power consumption, we have more powerful fixtures in our inventory than the Alphas, but they are very comparable in terms of brightness. It is a very bright fixture for a 575W."
The type of events that Pegasus Productions undertakes makes the brightness-to-power ratio of the Alpha Spot HPE highly attractive. "We handle a lot of architectural lighting and special events," remarks Truncali. "Power is always an issue. If I can use a 575W in place of a 1200W, with the added bonus of a larger zoom, it becomes a huge plus."
Clay Paky America's CEO, PJ Turpin, was enthusiastic that Pegasus Productions had picked Clay Paky for their new purchase of fixtures. "We are very pleased to have a company like Pegasus onboard," remarked Turpin. "With all the choices available to him, Anthony chose Clay Paky. Pegasus is well known for putting on quality productions for high end clientele. Having a company like Pegasus as part of our expanding network of rental and sales dealers is very exciting."
"The Alpha range is not like anything Clay Paky has made in the past," adds Yildiz. "Their fixtures have always been great, but with the Alpha range, Clay Paky has taken a very sharp turn ahead of the other moving light manufacturers. Clay Paky leaves their competitors in the dust with this line."
