PLASA Focus: Leeds 2011 will see the UK premiere of Cloud Electronics' new VTX Series of high-power multi-channel amplifiers. The new Cloud range "achieves high quality acoustic performance across the long term," says Cloud.

Built in accordance with the company's principle of reliability, the VTX series is designed to be "the perfect choice for low maintenance and worry-free installations".

Simple and reliable installations can be achieved with these 2U rackmounting amplifiers benefiting from studio quality VCA input modules for Remote Level Control (RL-1) as standard and featuring a switched hi-pass filter (18 dB/oct below 65 Hz) for each channel as well as extensive protection against short-circuit and reactive loads, clipping, DC and overheating.

The range achieves what Cloud states is an Industry best-in-class Crosstalk Performance of >90dB making it noise-free across all channels at any volume. All models are configurable for four-channel, dual stereo or mono use and includes balanced line level inputs with gain trim.

The VTX range is available with an optional web monitoring card (VTX-WM1) which is retrofittable on all models. It allows the amplifier's performance and settings (internal temperature, signal level, PSU status, protection circuitry and remote volume levels) to be monitored at a remote location using any computer, PDA or Smartphone via its normal Internet browser application - so no dedicated software is necessary. As well as checking the integrity of the amplifier, the VTX-WM1 generates a test signal for the load impedance test, at one or more user-definable frequencies.

Also available as options are the RL-1 remote music level controller, and EQ cards for both Bose and Amina loudspeakers.
