Since the primary focus of folk music performances is the words and music, it was of utmost importance that the words be intelligible and sound natural and that individual instruments be rendered distinctly and accurately, and Cohedra Compact was chosen for these tours.
The Kastelruther Spatzen from South Tyrol-who were awarded the German music prize ECHO for the ninth time this year, making them the most honoured recipients of the ECHO prize ever-are touring concert halls in Germany, Austria and Switzerland through March 2007 supported by a Cohedra Compact system. They have become very big fans of this system. As Manager Albin Gross mentioned in the fan magazine Spatzen-Post: "Our new PA is a real pleasure to listen to. Not only does the system sound excellent, but I am amazed at just how much detail and nuance you can tweak from it."
For Florian Silbereisen and his Folk Music Festival of Surprises, system engineer Patrick Eckerlin also uses Cohedra Compact. This tour will travel to a total of 47 German towns through May 2006 and will entertain the audience with German folk music stars like DJ Ötzi, Patrick Lindner and the Original Naabtal Duo.
Another highlight in the folk music tour calendar that Klangschmiede is responsible for is the Hearts Win ("Herz gewinnt") Tour of the king and queen of German folk music, Marianne and Michael. For their sound reinforcement, sound engineer Klaus Dürschner has selected a Cohedra Compact system reinforced by 8 R-Series subwoofers.
The Hofmann Siblings will also be using HK Audio in the form of four R-Series stacks to fill German concert halls on their Boundless Tour ("Grenzenlos") through May.
