As the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for GLP products, AC-ET supplied 26 GLP Impression Zooms to the west London based Colour Sound. The fixtures have joined the 14 GLP Impression 90s already in their hire stock and are ready for a busy upcoming 2011 festival and touring season.
Colour Sound's MD and founder, Haydn Cruickshank explains that their original Impression 90s purchased 18 months ago were proving so incredibly popular and increasingly appearing on LD's spec sheets, that they needed more to keep pace with demand! This time they decided to invest in the 120 Zoom fixture, which is every bit as successful as the Impression 90s for them.
The Impression 120 RZ Zooms first went out on the Dizzee Rascal tour last summer with LD Neil Marsh. The Impressions then went on to be utilised on Leftfield's festival tour for which Colour Sound supplied all lighting equipment, as well as for Underworld's end of year shows, LD'd by Cruickshank himself. He admits, "Although the Impression Zooms were on the design and I really wanted to use them, I couldn't for every show because my own hire stock was completely out servicing other projects."
Other recent Colour Sound GLP shows have included the Fun Lovin' Criminals tour (LD Ricardo Lorenzini), The Human League (LD Phil Lee) and the Hard Rock Hell festival at Pontin's Holiday Village, Prestatyn, Wales (LDs John Rickets & Paul van den Heijkant).
Colour Sound's GLP Impressions went out on January's G*Mania tour and have been spec'd for the upcoming Hammerfest festival. They are also being supplied as part of a contract hire installation package to the new London burlesque club The Box in Soho.
