UK - Professional audio designer Ian Colville joins Flare Audio as its head of pro technical this May, expanding the company's presence in the pro-audio market and introducing its technology to the concert-going public.

Colville joins Flare following eight-and-a-half years with audio rental company Capital Sound, where as technical manager and systems designer he worked on a wide range of high profile projects including Take That's Progress stadium tour, The British Summertime Concerts in Hyde Park, London, and The Killers at Wembley Stadium.

"Sound has been my passion for the last 40 years," says Colville. "I've always looked for the best solutions, the best technology and the best experience. Flare loudspeakers are unique because of the innovative technology the company has, and is continuing to develop. I believe they offer the most accurate reproduction of sound currently available. For me, the challenge is to further bring this technology to the attention of the professional audio industry so that the ticket-buying public can also benefit from these innovations. Although Flare is already making inroads into other sectors, professional audio is a notoriously difficult market to penetrate."

Davies Roberts, CEO of Flare Audio, says, "Ian's wealth of experience on designing and delivering sound at large scale events is exactly what Flare needs. We will be working together on further developing our Pro range and he will be an integral part of Flare's R&D team. He will liaise with major hire companies further establishing the Flare brand so that the new technology is understood and embraced."

"Roberts continues: "Many major production clients are enquiring about Flare technology and Ian's role is to cement this opportunity. He and I share the same passion for sound and delivering the highest degree of technical professionalism, as well as pushing the boundaries of innovation. Ian will be able to demonstrate to hire companies that Flare's technology is the future for the industry, not just on sound quality but on audio control solutions, too. His arrival is a real coup for Flare."
