Dan Ristow of Fort Worth-base Heavenly Sound and Video comments, "Saginaw Church of Christ is a vocal-only church, so warmth and articulation in spoken word was a fundamental objective in designing their system. "We've worked with the Veris system in the past, and were particularly impressed with its performance on spoken word. The difference was clear, even in a side-by-side comparison with another more expensive loudspeaker."
The sanctuary's architecture presented some acoustical challenges as well. "The room has a high ceiling, with a rear entrance wall constructed mainly of glass, and intelligibility has always been a bit of a challenge," says Ristow. "We needed a system with a controlled horn pattern that we could aim low enough to keep that energy from reflecting off the wall, and avoid too much comb filtering with the side fill cabinets. Again, the Veris 32 fit the bill."
The system is powered by QSC amplification, with system DSP provided by an Ashly Protea. An Allen and Heath ZED-420 16-channel mixer is installed at Front of House.
"We're pleased to have designed a system that meets their performance needs and their worship goals, while staying within their budget," Ristow concludes. "The Veris system is really ideal for mid-sized houses of worship."
