UK - With only one week to go before the first of this series of Hawthorn@Home events, a 'Pyro Day' on October 13 featuring a demonstration of pyrotechnics by Le Maitre, registrations for the event are doing well, the company reports. "The numbers and quality of the registrations we have already received is encouraging," says Alan Jackson of Hawthorn, "however, we still have capacity at the event to accommodate even more delegates."

Hawthorn regularly organise a series of events, which take place at its base at Old Dalby in Leicestershire. The events run under the heading Hawthorn@Home which give lighting, sound, AV and scenic materials users the opportunity to get hands on with the latest equipment and technology. It is intended the workshops will allow manufacturers, suppliers and users to discuss the products and to gain an insight not normally available outside the large tradeshows.

Hawthorn's hire and sales team host the events which kick off with lunch and an informal get together followed by the hands on/demo of the equipment. The second event in this series on Scenic Paint is already scheduled for the 1 November.

"We are delighted to announce that renowned scenic artist, Jennifer Knott from the USA, Rosco paint products manager will be joining us at this event to share her wealth of experience in this field," says Jackson.

"We will be doing further @Home days on; video, generic lighting and sound, this is a great opportunity for everyone to get to grips with all types of equipment and materials that they wouldn't normally. Being centrally based we feel we are best placed to host this type of event and open it to everyone."

Further information on future events will be announced shortly.
