The result is a new, "state-of-the-art" distributed public address system at the Cleveland Browns Stadium, completed in July 2006. As a special feature, four custom-made large rolling field carts were made, each as a self-contained high-powered PA, using D.A.S. self-powered Aero Line Arrays and dual 18" Subs to enhance extreme low frequency delivery to the lower seats. This provides a total of 16 dual 18" speaker cabinets with 32 Aero 38A mid/high line array speakers placed in each of four corners at the goal lines. This unique field audio delivery system will be used for pre-game practice and warm ups (but turned off for the game, due to NFL restrictions), and will have a second use with speakers directed at the end zone area. The eastern end zone section, home to the famous 'Dog Pound' will experience enhanced audio derived from new parabolic microphones designed to pick up the sound from the line. This system will deliver the calls and crunches just like the TV broadcast, say Durrell.
The new sound system will give the Browns an unparalleled sound for NFL events and greatly increase performance options that will make additional events possible, say the company.
