Performances are open to both resort guests and the public
USA - D.A.S. Audio was selected to upgrade the sound reinforcement system at the Hollywood Beach Bandshell. After careful consideration and evaluation, the purchased equipment was drawn from the Event Series catalogue of D.A.S. Audio.
Ricardo Cintron-Jimenez, the professional accounts manager for Guitar Centre Professional of South Florida handled the sale of the D.A.S. equipment through Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. This transaction included six D.A.S. Audio Event 208A three-way, active line array elements and two D.A.S. Event 218A powered sub bass enclosures.
Cintron-Jimenez discusses the project: “There is an outdoor, beachfront stage that is located right on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. The resort works very closely with the city to manage the Hollywood Beach Bandshell. On Wednesday to Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. there are live music performances that encompass a wide range of musical styles. These performances are open to both resort guests and the public and they attract a good size crowd. As an example, more than 1,000 people gather every Friday to dance and enjoy the music, for free.
“Ron Green, Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort’s director of entertainment, wanted to upgrade the sound system capabilities. As an outside venue, Ron wasn’t certain what type of loudspeakers would best handle the job, so he contacted me. Being that an indoor demonstration is a lot different than the beachfront stage area at the resort, I coordinated a live demo onsite at the beach so we could clearly evaluate dispersion, clarity, speech intelligibility, ease of setup, and overall sound quality of the Event Series loudspeakers.
“The demo proved to be the best way to evaluate the equipment and, in this case, the Event Series loudspeakers clearly showed that their quality of sound reproduction and coverage were ideal. Combined with their rugged build quality, scalability, and overall versatility, these loudspeakers proved to be a great choice for this particular bandshell venue.”
As an outdoor venue, the new D.A.S. loudspeakers are moved on and off the stage each day. The setup includes covers for the loudspeakers to help protect them as they are moved, along with stacking brackets. Once the equipment is moved onto the stage, the setup provides for three ground-stacked D.A.S. Event 208A loudspeakers each for the left and right sides - accompanied by one Event 218A subwoofer for each side.
