First up and new to the Canadian market, weighing in at a mere 2 lbs apiece, will be the duo from the E-Series, the E4 and the E5. These miniatures from the d&b range are designed to offer more flexible solutions to the user. Both loudspeakers are intended for speech and music reinforcement in theatres, conferences, industrial presentations, broadcast studios as well as their equally useful application in surround sound, delay or fill requirements. They may be small but they can pack a mighty punch, says the company.
The second item on the agenda will be the larger and heavier T10 from the T-Series; a passive two-way loudspeaker housing two 6.5" drivers, this box has a completely different trick up its sleeve. With a simple, quick twist of the wrist, the horn can be rotated by 90º to produce accurate point source dispersion, transforming a vertically orientated T10 into a stand-alone full range cabinet.
The principles that underpin the rationale behind the d&b products will be ably demonstrated by Christopher Kulesa from Application Support at d&b audiotechnik US as he presents Demystifying Audio. Visitors who make the rendezvous on Saturday 18 August at 2.15pm will be treated to a lively look at the journey of sound from the loudspeaker to the ear.
As François Corbin, who heads up d&b audiotechnik in Canada remarks, "Here at d&b we don't believe in unnecessary complications, just solutions that work every time."
