The new partner for Indonesia is Jakarta based A&T Solution, a subsidiary of IM Group which is headed by its founder Christian Kartiko, "a young ambitious audiophile decidedly in the d&b mould". "He really understands why good sound matters," said Song. "He is also a shrewd and effective businessman."
Kartiko established A&T Solutions specifically to manage d&b sales and installations. "Mr Agung will be directly responsible for sales at A&T," said Kartiko, "and with the agreement of Sebastian in Singapore I have also engaged his former applications and support engineer Anil Suhood. Taking someone with Suhood's expertise into A&T as a business partner immediately establishes a strong d&b identity."
The agreement was sealed in November 2010 and Song's belief in the new partner has been vindicated almost immediately, "In just four months A&T has secured three significant projects with more already in the pipeline."
The three projects comprise a church, a banqueting hall, and a night club. Gereja Mawar Sharon is a 3,000 capacity church located in Surabaya. "The church is aiming to expand its congregation to 10,000 in the next two years and I fully expect them to do it," said Kartiko. "We have installed a Q-Series system with augmented low end from B2-SUBs. We have designed the system install with expansion in mind."
At Samarinda in East Borneo, the Muse club is already attracting attention for the quality of its sound system. "This club is part of an entertainment complex spread over eight floors," explained Kartiko. "The system comprises Ci90s with B2-SUBs all driven by d&b D12 amplifiers. The Ci90s are distributed around the venue and driven individually allowing the owners to tailor the sound environment to their clients' needs."
Suhood assisted with the design for the third installation in the Banqueting Hall of the Capital Building in Medan. Another distributed system, this time of Ci7s, Suhood reported that, "It was obvious to me A&T's own installation team had read and fully understood the d&b manual with the system. Their system placement was correct and precise; it was an easy decision for me to sit back and allow them to make the final room tuning, and they did a very good job."
