Germany - D-MEXX have started to ship Signal Splitters for transmission paths between audio devices, compliant with the MADI standard. The D-MEXX Splitters are passive, optical devices; consequently, they are free of latency and require no external power source. Three different versions are immediately available.

The simplest model splits an incoming audio signal (transmitted over optical fibreglass cable) to two identical outputs. The same can be said for the "Dual"-version (two input signals to four outputs, respectively two outputs for each incoming signal). By connecting one of the outputs of the Dual unit back to its second input, one can achieve a tripling of a single audio signal. The "Triplex"-version splits two incoming audio signals each to three outputs (for a total of 6 outputs). Here, too, could one use an "internal cascade" to effectively generate five identical outputs of a single audio signal.

Following the same principle, several Splitters can be connected together. For instance, by combining two "Triplex"-Splitters in a rack insert, also available from D-MEXX as an accessory, a single input signal could be distributed to nine outputs.

Rounding out the new range, D-MEXX is also offering an extensive selection of optical fibreglass cables with MADI-SC connections, in three varieties: single and duplex (both for indoor use), as well as "military", which features special cable sleeving and shielding for outdoor and live event use. All varieties are alternatively available as extension cables (with an optical coupler at one of the cable ends). Lengths over 100m can be specially prepared for individual orders.
