The Latest member of the expanding DAC team, Justin Burke, outside the new facility
UK - Damon Crisp's DAC Pro-Media Ltd has proved that even in recessionary times expansion is possible when the portfolio of products - and the markets they are aimed at - are carefully considered.

Following a period of sustained growth in the Audio Visual, Installation, Education and Commercial sectors - as well as his traditional heartland of MI/DJ - Crisp has announced a relocation of his operation to a new 3600 sq. ft warehouse in Surrey, the recruitment of a further sales rep and addition of a key brand to his burgeoning portfolio.

Explaining the underlying reasons, he states, "Over the past two years DAC Pro-Media has seen growth running at over 50% and now has 'Sole UK Distributor' status with many high profile manufacturers." These brands include Mono DJ Bags, Odyssey Cases, Symphony Acoustics, Panoramic Lasers, Laser Science and Newhank AV products.

In addition DAC Pro-Media is acting as a direct sales agents for Audio-Technica and Allen & Heath, CUK - now representing Powersoft, dB Technologies, Community and Phonic - while in their lighting portfolio they are marketing Prolight Concepts' range to both domestic and professional users.

"With the pressures on our trade, particularly at retail level, DAC has forged partnerships with all its clients - an approach that we can see from our own growth has been working," continues Crisp. "Equally our policy to offer quality value conscious brand has been key in that success - replacing the plethora of unsupported cheap, nasty, badly built products that were starting to flood the markets."

His model is based largely on the way distribution is handled in the States, and its dependency on 'rep' networks. "The costs for a manufacturer to have its own in-house sales team are spiralling," he recognises. "We believe we can offer a compelling option for distribution which is difficult to ignore."

Having already appointed Barry Haywood to handle sales in the North and Scotland he has now announced the arrival of Justin Burke from Loud Technologies. Burke joins DAC to enhance pro sales in the Home Counties and South of England, with effect from 1 August, having been responsible for the growth of Mackie as UK sales Manager.

Meanwhile, the address of DAC Pro-Media's new HQ in Leatherhead, Surrey is: Unit 4, Kingslea Works, Kingston Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 7LE.
