Dave has recently spoken at the PLASA Focus show in Leeds and had one of the largest audiences of all the 20 seminars hosted at that event. He is bringing his seminar series titled The Art of Mixing a Show to ENTECH where he will explore the most important ideas behind putting a mix together, how to add a third dimension to a flat, two dimensional mix and looked at using dynamic processors in a creative way.
Over the past decade Dave has spent time mixing for some of the most influential acts in the UK including Amy Winehouse, Seasick Steve, Corinne Bailey Rae, and many others on some of the biggest festivals, TV shows, and venues all over the world.
Most recently he has been exclusively working with La Roux, and during his time with them he used the downtime wisely and wrote a book. Live Audio: the art of mixing a Show was released worldwide at the beginning of January 2011. He also writes a monthly column in Audio Pro Internationa.
"One of the best audio teachers I ever had was Australian, so I hope I will be returning a favour. Everyone, and every culture has their own way of doing things, so it's pretty exciting for me to get to share what I know, and hopefully get a lot of shared knowledge from everyone attending my sessions. I like to allow plenty of time for Q & A's so everyone feels like they are involved," Dave commented.
'We are delighted to be able to bring Dave and his inspirational sessions over to Australia for ENTECH. The audience response to Dave's talk at our recent trade show PLASA Focus:Leeds 2011 was incredibly positive and there was a real energy amongst those who attended. We are sure that the visitors to ENTECH will feel the same,' added Nicky Rowland, PLASA's director of events.
