The company's brief statement on the departure reads: "David Caulfield has ended his employment with Martin Professional Plc as of August 30, 2007. We would like to thank David for his efforts over the last five years as Managing Director and wish him the best in his future endeavours. A recruitment process for the position as Managing Director in Martin Professional Plc will begin immediately and it is our intention to fill the vacancy promptly."
David Caulfield, who declined to comment on the circumstances of his departure from the company, has told L&SI that he will be taking a short break with his family while considering his options for the future.
