An inventive approach was needed due to the overall height restrictions imposed on exhibitors and the limited rigging permissible (5Kg per point!) for lighting and other flown elements. This was provided by dbn's unflappable Nigel Walker.
An environment was created offering two seminar rooms to accommodate up to 20 delegates and three meeting rooms for groups of up to six people. These spaces radiated off a central 'social' area where delegates could mingle and enjoy refreshments in a calm, chilled atmosphere.
Walker used 25mm conduit as the hung lighting bars, and specified Chroma-Q ColorForce 12s LED units fitted with Lee 216 diffusion as house lights.
The details were picked out using a combination of MR16 Birdies & Altman Micro Eclipse Zoom Profiles, some fitted with gobos. Movement was achieved using a classic effect - Solar 250 projectors fitted with static gobos and rotating gobos.
Colour was introduced into the various areas with a combination of Pol-Star AR111 TriLed uplighters, RGB LED ribbon & RGBA LED battens, all DMX controlled through a Jands Vista S1 Control Surface.
The seminar rooms were fitted with six channel lighting desks to allow users to set their own light levels and colours.
Above the circular "social" area, a ground supported Litebeam trussing crosspiece provided hanging points for 90 degree ETC Source Four Profiles fitted with gobo rotators and static gobos, another ColorForce 12 and Altman Micro Eclipse Zoom Profiles.
Areas of the main exhibition booth body were enhanced with Chroma-Q DB4 LED blocks controlled via a second Jands Vista S1, and individual displays were fitted with integral LED fixtures including Basis Pendum LED spotlights.
This event is the latest in a series that dbn and Walker have lit for their client and once again the feedback has been "excellent" . dbn's Nick Buckley assisted Walker in getting the show in and out.
