dBs Music opened its first centre in Plymouth 15 years ago, with Camborne and Bristol in 2011 and 2012 respectively. The company partners with local colleges and universities in each location to deliver specialist education to FE and HE level, offering courses in everything from music for film and TV to live sound degrees and music production diplomas.
The Allen & Heath GS-R24's combination of refined analogue quality, versatility, control and ability to integrate with digital workstations makes it perfect for students serious about a career in production.
In addition to the Allen & Heath products that feature in each centre, dBs Music also employ Audio-Technica AT2050 multi-pattern condenser microphones, and each of their 700 or so students receives a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M20 monitor headphones to use during their studies.
dBs Music Bristol centre manager Chris Miller said: "As a leader in the music technology sector it is vital for dBs Music to have equipment that stands up to the rigorous demands of modern audio production. With its routing flexibility and seamless DAW integration the GS-R24 is designed with such challenges in mind. Add to this the lovely transparent mic preamps, a really well judged EQ section and a couple of valve channels and you have a desk that is unrivalled in this price range."
