"A powerful, yet small system, the DVA range was just right for the Venezuela Pavilion theatre," explains Shelly Xiao, general manager of dBTechnologies distributor, Sharp Dragon. "The digital self powered line array fitted the bill perfectly: lightweight, not too obtrusive and it sounds excellent."
The system comprises 12 flown T4 full range cabinets arrayed six on each side within the arc-shaped ceiling, two ground-stacked S10 powered subwoofers fitted with onboard SDD delay modules, two dBTechnologies Arena 15 passive cabinets to support the centre sound and a DSX 2040 controller, providing even coverage across the venue.
"The DVA system fitted in to the shape of the theatre beautifully and gave no problems of weight or size," confirmed the general manager of Baokun Electronic Technology, winner of the contract to provide and install the sound system. The official opening of the 286-seat theatre was celebrated on 2 May with a grand music performance. "The clear and full sound of the system brought the place to life. dBTechnologies distributor, Sharp Dragon went out of their way to provide products on time and provided an engineer to help install the system, which went in very smoothly," continues Baokun's general manager.
Covering a total of 3,000sq.m and hailed as one of the most outstanding contributions at the World Expo, the Venezuelan exhibition area is in the shape of a figure eight, a symbolic number to both the Chinese and Venezuelans, the latter recently incorporating eight 'stars of Bolvar' into their national flag.
