UK - One of the first feature-packed Denon DN-D6000 dual CD/MP3 players has been fitted into the high-profile Bar M near Piccadilly Circus, by Ed Manwaring of EM Communications. Owned by Glendola Leisure, Bar M acts as an annexe champagne lounge to CC-Club - on the site of the former Alien War at the Trocadero. EM Communications won the contract to fit the sound, based on their past knowledge of the site, knowing that the bar had to be open for midweek daytime trading, reverting to a dance venue in its own right Thursdays through Saturdays. At that point the hard disk background system would make way for the Denon playback.

Manwaring had carried out the original installation at CC-Club/Bar M while working for another company, specifying a pair of Denon DN-2100F dual CD players, which had continued to operate faultlessly over a four-year period. Last year, a pair of DN-S3000 tabletop players went into the club booth and when Glendola decided to refurbish the bar before Christmas they asked Ed to standardise on Denon. "The venue loved the Denon kit so much they wanted to make both booths identical," said Manwaring, who has been using Denon equipment for 15 years. "But the practicalities in Bar M was such that we couldn't fit two DN-S3000s into the available booth space - so we opted for a single 6000 rackmount device instead."

The DN-D6000 incorporates advanced MP3 playback, (seamless looping, scatching, hot start, file search etc) as well as Next Track Reserve, which allows the operator to to search for a song by name within the vast library of MP3 downloads and crossfoad seamlessly back into another file contained on the same disc. Onboard sampler, built-in FX, three-way BPM counter and many more features are standard onboard this versatile player.
