Designer Systems' new range of control interfaces connect to the DN-V300 via the unit's serial RS232 port. Initially four products have been announced: DVD-DSPRX proximity detector. Typically used in a kiosk environment, where a DVD player system is used to provide POS and EPOS advertising, the DSPRX will detect the motion of a passer-by via infrared sensor, and control the playback of media accordingly.
DVD-D9 interface box. Typically used in a kiosk environment where input is required from the kiosk's own control buttons, this 9-channel interface allows customised buttons and features to trigger media playback.
DVD-DWRC remote control. Typically used in point-of-sale, training and education purposes, museums and presentation applications, this unit provides a simple interface between the user and the media via a wired remote control with seven configurable buttons, and is available in wired and infrared versions.
DVD-DSYN synchronisation unit. Primarily used in automatic multiple player presentations of DVD video material, this unit permits the synchronisation of multiple V300 players, with either the same or different media.
D&M Professional's European marketing and communications manager, David Atkinson, said: "This is an example of two companies combining their respective skillsets to produce a remarkable synergy. Designer Systems' peripheral boxes have transformed the DN-V300 from a quality DVD source unit into an interactive installation solution. They have been a great partner to work with and have been more than happy to oblige with whatever we've thrown at them!"
