r17 is out now
UK - Media server specialist disguise has released r17, the latest update to its software. Launched in response to user feedback, r17 brings workflow and user experience enhancements, including Manipulators and PreComps, and introduces Network Device Interface (NDI) support.
Users can now stream an NDI source from content tools to the disguise stage in realtime, unlocking new workflows for esports, fixed installations, and TV productions. Integration with NDI can also be used as a streaming preview from content tools, such as 3DSMax or AfterEffects that enable users to finesse content accurately in-situ, saving time and speeding up workflows.
For compositing, PreComps is a new workflow that allows users to create a pre-composition of layers which can be reused in multiple locations, making timelines cleaner and more flexible. It also enables the routing of video content between different layers on the timeline, allowing users to blend and mix content sources.
Meanwhile, new previsualisation feature Manipulators give users the ability to select multiple objects on a 3D stage and offset, rotate and scale them. The feature improves efficiency and usability, reducing the time and effort needed to set up a project.
In addition, the usability of SockPuppet projects, which enable the control of disguise via a lighting desk, iPad or another networked device, has been improved to enable less complex set-ups.
r17 is now available from the disguise.one website.
