DMi's strategy, as a one-stop provider of CI and commercial AV solutions, offers potential for a multi-room system closely integrated with the developing network capabilities of its Denon, Escient and Marantz distributed brands. Opus Technologies' decision, taken earlier this year, to pursue its own distribution strategy, has prompted DMi to specify a networking system requirement with the closest possible fit to the capabilities of the latest systems and products from its distributed brands. The evolving networking capabilities of products from these manufacturers provides the increasing potential for powerful multi-room solutions that will lead the market.
Commenting, DMi general manager, Mark Perrins, stated, "We have an evolving requirement in respect of multi-room AV distribution and control, with the powerful networking capabilities of new products from Escient and Denon and Marantz. Our objective must be to offer our customers the means of fully exploiting these features in the design of AV systems, and to fully support that capability in the market.
"DMi is seeking a solution that will provide it with the networking technology and feature fit to fully exploit and support product development from these manufacturers. An announcement detailing the outcome of that process, and a new product line, will be made at the beginning of 2008."
