Visitors to Hall 11, Stand number 11.A60 will be able to find out more about the kit, designed to assist small studio spaces eliminate clutter on the ground caused by lighting and trailing cables. The modular system can be easily constructed to suit most spaces and offers a safe working load that is adequate to support most modern day lighting with the addition of pantographs and bars.
Mark Chorley, design engineer said, "The Doughty Studio frame really is ideal for use in studios where space is of a premium. It started life as many of our product ranges do, as a bespoke piece of kit for the animation department at Staffordshire University. The course's specialist technical instructor was looking for a way to enable his students to move more freely around their sets and so we worked together to rid the studios of all their lighting stands and instead used the Doughty Studio Frame to suspend all the lighting and with it all the cables too."
Mark continued, "Adding two pantographs and three bars for the lighting, the students in Staffordshire have all the flexibility they need without any of the trip hazards and the feedback we've had from the University and also the Degree Show where our prototype was on display, has been outstanding. We hope visitors to IBC will also see the benefits of our new piece of kit."
Doughty's award winning Drop Arms and H Frames, trolleys and a selection of grip, rigging, suspension and lifting equipment will be on the stand as well as Doughty's Camera Cradles and Studio Rail which offers a SWL of 100kg in most situations and versatile enough to provide for anything from a lighting rig to a walk-along curtain track.
"2015 has seen us really up our game in the broadcast space," said sales director Julian Chiverton. "We've been involved with some fascinating projects at Queen's University in Belfast and in the Stop Animation and Puppet Making department at the University of Staffordshire. We've worked closely with Cinelease to supply bespoke, modular trolleys and with Hot Cam who we've recently supplied with our new Camera Cradles. We have also been involved in projects with a major shopping channel, news and sport channel and a major news corporation."
Julian concluded, "IBC is an important show for us. We are seeing an increasing amount of our kit ordered by broadcasters in the Europe and further afield and we're excited to see this side of our business flourish as we head towards 2016."
