Incorporated three years ago in Zagreb, Croatia, Intercom is in the process of establishing a distributor network across the eight countries. "Our business concept is to create a distribution network for a small number of carefully-selected, complementary brands," says Intercom's sales manager Vatroslav Mlinar. "Quality is imperative, and DPA fits our vision extremely well, being a professional company which pays great attention to detail in every aspect of business. It's a strong brand with a great product range, highly rated for both quality and reliability. Throughout the region, the market is very pleased to learn that DPA will at last be represented locally, with demo stock available for personal evaluation. The markets of South East Europe are stabilizing slowly but surely, both politically and economically, and we are very positive about the business potential for DPA's product range throughout the region."
Mlinar also confirms that the miniature series is in great demand for broadcasting, theatre and live sound applications. This is borne out by the impressive number of DPA sales since Intercom's appointment, the first customer being Zagreb-based production company Digiwhale, which purchased a set of miniature mics comprising three IMK 4061 instrument microphone kits, two 4060 and one 4062 miniatures plus a range of accessories. The second customer was Zagreb-based Gama Studio, the largest independent production and post-production facility in Croatia. In addition to this, national Croatian TV broadcaster HTV has ordered 24 IMK 4061 instrument kits for recording string orchestras.
