Dreamwave and Highlite upgrade The Hangar

The Hangar in Suffolk is a versatile venue and is renowned for hosting weddings, parties and corporate events throughout the year. The brief from the co-owners of Kesgrave Hall was to update The Hangar’s AV facilities after almost 10 years to enable the venue to deliver its own immersive event experience. The main requirements were a large LED screen to give guests a better visual experience, an upgrade to the audio system and a redesign of the entertainment lighting.
The AV installation was designed and implemented using products from Showtec, Infinity, Odin AudioSystems by DAP, DMT and Showgear. The Dreamwave Group has always had a close working relationship with Highlite as the supplier of these brands, relying on their expertise to deliver on time for critical projects and has experienced great reliability with their diverse product range.
The new LED screen is made up of 60 x DMT Alpha Series A3.9i panels. The 5 x 3m screen takes pride of place at the centre of this installation upgrade. Panel processing is provided by two Novastar VX600s working in tandem backup mode. In addition, a DMT D1 Video Mixer with Scaler provides easy control between the various inputs, including Resolume Arena, a media server and PTZ cameras.
Odin Audio Systems has provided the venue with its new front of house PA, consisting of Odin S-18A Subwoofers and Odin T-8A Satellite speakers. All are managed by the Odin CL-4 Digital DSP. The active loudspeaker system has allowed the space to be used in many different ways and complements the upgrades perfectly. Further audio upgrades were carried out throughout the site, comprising DAP CA amplifiers and processing, EVO 6 and EVO 8 background loudspeakers in the main hangar ceiling space, entrance marquee and outdoor areas.
An upgrade of the existing effects and stage lighting included many items from the Showtec range such as Performer Profile 600 MKIII, LED Light Bar 12 Pixel, Compact Pars, Shark Barrel One and Galactic 1K20 TXT 1000mW RBG lasers. These fixtures are all controlled via the Infinity Chimp 300.G2 console, which is programmed with Magic Sheet touchscreen presets to give venue staff easy control of the effects.
A new layout of the performance area using the Showgear Mammoth Dex system now allows for better utilisation of the space with easy configuration changes.
