Following the success of previous editions, Sandro Carotenuto was confirmed for the third time director of photography of Made in Sud.
Carotenuto decided to use the DTS moving heads - NRG 1201 and above all the Raptors - in a 'spectacular' way.
The fixtures were installed both on stage and in the stalls area; their projections have become one of the most recognizable elements of the show.
Many features of the Raptor were considered very attractive in television use: the high luminous efficiency; the eight-facet prism which enabled the projectors to focus directly on the camera, avoiding any problem of glare; the very effective frost, with a homogeneous distribution of the luminosity; the unique 'Smooth' filter which eliminated the central hot spot typical of other Beam projectors.
