UB40's Ali Campbell and a full ten piece band will be topping the bill on 27 April, and this will be followed by two further evenings of action-packed shows including a host of local artists.
The main concert sponsors are Al Laith Event Services, Creative Technology, Delta Sound, EFM Event Logistics and Neumann & Mueller.
Staging, roofing, FOH, barriers and production village cabins will be provided by Al Laith Event Services; lighting and rigging by Neumann & Mueller; sound by Delta; LED screens, projection and cameras by CT, with logistical support from freighting experts, EFM Event Logistics.
A further 13 local sponsor companies will be providing backline, draping, additional backstage and FOH infrastructure, power, branding & printing, and food & beverages for both front and back of house, with production management co-ordinated by HQ Creative.
In supplying the concert, the sponsor companies will be demonstrating the quality and standards of technology and personnel that are available in a region that is experienced in - and renowned for - producing world class events.
Simultaneously, EFM is hosting its popular annual industry party this year backstage at the Aviation Club, which will also be in support of the charity, featuring an invited guest list of leading events industry figures.
Dylan Owen, EFM's regional director for the Middle East, comments, "This is a great opportunity once again to thank our clients from the region and beyond, whilst at the same time supporting the Concert and this great charity. We are very much looking forward to a fun night with our industry friends."
Al Laith's Jo Marshall started the ball rolling to stage the Concert by suggesting that it would be an ideal opportunity - with everyone rocking up to the EFM Party - for companies to showcase their equipment, skills and services in a real live performance environment with all proceeds going to Peace One Day (www.peaceoneday.org).
Peace One Day is a charitable organisation, founded by British documentary filmmaker and actor Jeremy Gilley in September 1999, to promote the idea of one day a year free of conflict and war; one day of a global truce regardless of the conflict. On 7 September 2001 the United Nations passed a further resolution declaring 21 September the 'International Day of Peace' with the additional aim of declaring a global ceasefire on a fixed day of the year.
