One of the latest attractions of the park is a new thousand-seater amphitheater
Poland - Jozef Pilsudski Park in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski is one of the most popular recreational areas in Poland's Kamienna river basin. One of the latest attractions of the park is a new thousand-seater amphitheater. The programme scheduled for the new venue includes both theatrical productions and live concerts. This being the case, the amphitheater's sound reinforcement system necessarily had to be capable of offering the highest possible level of intelligibility as well as enough punch to bring musical performances to life.

The planning and implementation of the sound reinforcement solution was entrusted to two Polish companies: Tommex, the Polish Dynacord distributor, and Anna-Bud which was in charge of the installation. Together both companies opted for a lavish Dynacord system based around the compact Cobra-4 line array and featuring eight Cobra PWH planar waveguide bass horns, six Cobra-4 Tops and four VariLine 262 cabinets to provide front-fill.

Two 10U racks comprising in each case two H5000 power amplifiers, an ICP-88 and an AC 232 connection panel supplying power and control. Since the quality of the foldback is of crucial importance - particularly for theatrical performances - the installation also includes eight Dynacord CXM 15 monitors, with the power supplied by a 14U rack made up of four H2500 power amplifiers, two ICP-44 units and one AC 232 connector panel.

The icing on the cake here from a soundman's perspective is the presence of IRIS-Net software: since all the amplifiers are fitted with RCM-26 modules, every signal is subject to remote control and supervision; furthermore, an individual GUI for this system offers the ultimate in comfort and intuitive operation.

"Systems from Dynacord offer fantastic sound quality even at high sound pressure levels as well as easy handling, flexibility and user-friendliness," states Piotr Wosiek, Tommex's technical engineer. "It's a fact not lost on other sound specialists in the region as cultural centres in the nearby towns of Starachowice, Polaniec und Opatow have for years relied on the quality of the brand. "This offers us the further advantage of being able to help each other out with system components as and when the need arises."

The installation in the new amphitheater had its baptism of fire at the recent Mira Kubasinska Blues-Rock Festival, which featured a high-class line-up of acts.
