The EasyColor uses 18 high-power LEDs - six red, six green and six blue, offering more than 16.7 million rich saturated colours, along with all the usual benefits of LED lighting. The LED light source will show up vividly on videotape and film, making the EasyColor well-suited for use with TV and movie cameras. Because LEDs emit no UV radiation and have very low IR emission, they can be positioned very close to the objects they illuminate, with no risk of damaging them.
John Lopez, national sales manager for Elation Professional, said: "The EasyColor will bring moving head effects to a much broader range of end-users, including architectural installations, interior designers, stores, museums, ad agencies, video producers and more."
The EasyColor offers 8 or 16-bit resolution, with microprocessor-driven high-resolution stepper motors for accurate, smooth movement, with 650° pan and 280° tilt. With a 14° beam angle, the unit has a polycarbonate diffuser for even beam coverage and is equipped with efficient PMMA secondary optics. Other features include an electronic dimmer that allows for adjustment of light output from 0% to 100%, with no colour variation, say Elation. The EasyColor also includes: a high-speed white or full-colour strobe effect which is adjustable from 1-25 flashes per second, pre-programmed colour and rainbow effects and an interchangeable optic filter.
A DMX-512 compatible fixture, the EasyColor has nine control channels and can be operated with any standard DMX controller. A digital LCD display provides read-outs on DMX addressing, special function setting and other key information. Equipped with a forced ventilation cooling system, the EasyColor utilizes self-adjusting variable speed fans to reduce noise. Its quiet operation is another feature that makes it ideal for TV studio use, say Elation.
