PA rental specialists, Concert Sound furnished a significant EAW KF760 line array system for the main stage and a number of smaller systems for the other stages plus three engineers for the duration of the event. At the same time, on the other side of the Atlantic, rental company RCS Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio, supplied a massive KF760 system for the US National Scout jamboree at Fort AP Hill in Virginia, which welcomed over 30,000 scouts from all over the US and beyond.
According to Concert Sound's Andy Davies, EuroJam was a complex event with much going on. "It was fun, actually - extremely varied with things happening on all 11 stages around the site as well as the main V-stage, ranging from sketches, song, dance, plays, and of course DJs and bands, so we needed our wits about us! Nate James [young UK soul artist] played a great set on the final night that got everyone stamping their feet." Andy Davies also professed himself to be very pleased with the system's performance from a technical point of view. "The EAW line array performed magnificently," he commented. "The V-stage bowl is 180m deep, yet we didn't use any delays at all - we didn't have to, and it still sounded great, right to the back of the bowl. The Scouts' production manager, Mike Bryan, told me that he was extremely impressed at the way in which the loudspeaker system covered such a large area with such clarity and consistency."
The main PA consisted of a hang of fourteen KF760 long/medium throw cabinets and two KF761 nearfield cabinets per side plus eight SB1000 subs per side with a number of KF750s as front-fill and side fill on stage. Elsewhere on site Concert Sound put the rest of the EAW family to work across the other eleven stages, deploying a combination of KF300e compact virtual array 3-way systems, JFX200 and JFX100 compact multi-purpose loudspeakers, JF80 ultra-compact 2-way loudspeakers, and BH760 subs in addition to a number of Mackie products including several 1402, 1604 and Onyx mixers.
