eclipse Staging Services was selected to provide all lighting, video and primary and secondary power distribution, while audio was supplied by Delta Sound. Martin Lubach, General Manager of eclipse Staging Services comments: "We are immensely proud to have been selected as event technology supplier for such a landmark show, the fact that so much of the production was able to be serviced locally is a real testament to the local market's ability to compete on a global stage."
Main stage lighting was comprised of 27 Martin Mac Vipers, 67 Clay Paky Sharpys (of which 16 were placed in the audience areas), 11 Clay Paky Alpha Wash 1500s, 150 Chauvet LED Pars, 24 Clay Paky Sharpy Washs, four Gladiator Followspots, one Lycian Truss Spot and six DF50 Hazers.
eclipse also provided 32 brand new Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash FXs, which were purchased as a result of a direct request from Lady Gaga's production team, demonstrating eclipse's ability and willingness to react quickly when requests for specific technology are received.
eclipse was also responsible for the three 9mm ROE video screens located on the main stage, which consisted of two 6.6m x 3m IMAGs, each located on either side of the stage, and an 18.6m x 4.8m upstage screen.
In addition to the main stage lighting and video, eclipse Staging Services also addressed the technical aspects of the audience areas, and primary and secondary power distribution to the entire venue, including the management of the Aggreko team and their generators on site.
An 8.3m x 4.4m relay LED screen was placed just after the VIP platform ensuring that those in the General Admission areas had an unobstructed view, in addition to a number of lighting fixtures which were flown from the delay towers and audience lighting towers in order for sufficient illumination of all audience areas. These lighting fixtures were all controlled via a GrandMA2 so that once the main show started, the look of the audience lighting could be changed, so that it did not distract from the concert. The VIP platform was lit by 70 LED Pars while the general audience area lighting comprised of 10 Pulsar Chroma Floods, 16 Sharpy Spots and 32 Sharpy Washes. An additional 12 Sharpy Spots and 60 LED Pars were utilized to illuminate the three separate site entrances.
A total of 6.6 megawatts of generated power was provided to the site, of which 4 megawatts was required for the AC solution alone. With regards to the main stage power, differences in local and touring production equipment voltages (415v/230v for local production and 120v/208v for touring production), meant that three 500 Kva generators and two 350 Kva generators were needed. Almost 14 km of cabling was required to cover the entire site, which included 240mm Powerloc all the way down to 16 amp TRS. eclipse also supplied every power outlet to all hospitality and catering areas and ten 110v transformers to cater to all backstage needs.
Delta Sound were called on to supply the PA system for the show, while the control system was brought by Lady Gaga's touring production. The PA system used was an L-Acoustics system. The main hangs were a flown system comprising of 2 hangs of: 12 K1 with 3 KARA down fills. The out fills were a flown system comprising of 2 hangs of 8 K2, while delays comprised of 2 hangs of 12 V-DOSC. Front Fills comprised of ground stacked pairs of KARA along the front of the stage. The whole system is powered by LA8 amplifiers and controlled by mixing desk DiGiCo SD9.
